  Planned closures during November

  We’re doing essential road markings and drainage work on the M11 at Cambridge between junctions 14 (Girton Interchange at Cambridge) and 11 (Westfield Interchange, near Trumpington). 

  Closures and diversions

  To work safely, we'll need the following closures overnight between 9pm and 5am only, weather permitting:

  Monday 2 November to Wednesday 4 November 2026 - M11 northbound junction 12 exit slip closure

  Traffic travelling northbound wishing to exit the M11 at junction 12 should:

  • continue to and exit junction 13
  • then return on the M11 southbound to leave at junction 12

  M11 northbound junction 12 exit slip closure diversion route

  Wednesday 4 November to Friday 6 November 2026 - M11 northbound junction 12 entry slip closure

  Traffic wishing to join the M11 northbound at junction 12 should:

  • take the M11 southbound to junction 11
  • and then take the M11 northbound

  Friday 6 November to Friday 13 November, Friday 20 November and Friday 27 November 2026 - M11 northbound junction 11 to 14 full closure 

  Traffic travelling northbound on the M11 should:

  • leave at junction 11
  • take the A10
  • then onto A505
  • then take the A1198
  • A428
  • and A14 to rejoin at junction 14

  Thursday 12 November 2026 - M11 southbound junction 14 to 11 full closure

  Traffic travelling southbound on the M11 southbound should:

  • leave at junction 14 onto the A14
  • turn around at junction 32 onto A428
  • then take A1198
  • onto the A505
  • then rejoin the M11 southbound at junction 10

  Closures and diversions

  Wednesday 30 September to Saturday 3 October and Monday 5 to Friday 9 October - M11 southbound junction 13 entry slip road

  Closed overnight (9pm-5am).

  Diversion route: 

  • travel along Madingley Road
  • at the next roundabout, turn right onto Queen's Road
  • continue straight onto Newnham Road
  • turn right onto Barton Road
  • re-join the M11 at Junction 12

  Friday 9 to Saturday 10 October - M11 southbound between junctions 14 and 12

  Closed overnight (9pm-5am).

  Diversion route: 

  • exit at Junction 14
  • follow the A14 and turn around at Junction 32
  • continue via the A428
  • follow Ermine Street South
  • continue on the A1198
  • follow the A603
  • re-join the M11 at Junction 12

  Friday 23 to Saturday 24 October and Friday 30 to Saturday 31 October - M11 southbound between junctions 14 and 11

  Closed overnight (9pm-5am).

  Diversion route: 

  • exit at Junction 14
  • follow the A14 and turn around at Junction 32
  • continue via the A428
  • follow Ermine Street South
  • continue on the A1198
  • follow the A505
  • re-join the M11 at Junction 11
